Tough Bunnies

Tough Bunnies is a musical project from Michael Hayashida, a songwriter based in Maine. Tough Bunnies songs are infused with humor and the holy in about equal measure. They celebrate and bear witness to the human experience inside marriages, families, and as hitchhikers getting a ride on top of this magnificent planet. Though… sometimes the songs are about none of these things and are just ridiculous.

The name comes from a variation on “tough luck” that Michael's eldest daughter coined. “Tough bunnies!” meant you were getting no more breaks from her. At this point in time, she has no plans to pursue litigation against her father for borrowing this phrase.
